Dubai Court Orders Delivery Company to pay Dh 172,985 Hospital Bill for Uninsured Worker



In a recent decision, the Dubai Civil Court has ordered a delivery services company to pay Dh172,985 to a hospital in Dubai.


The case was about an employee of the company who needed medical treatment. The company had not provided health insurance to the worker, which is required by UAE law. Because of this, the hospital bill was not covered.


According to the court, it is the responsibility of the employer to provide valid health insurance for all its employees in Dubai. Since the company failed to do so, it must now pay the full cost of the treatment.


The court stated that all companies operating in Dubai must follow the health insurance rules. This decision is a reminder for all employers to ensure their workers are properly insured.


This ruling highlights the importance of employee rights and health insurance laws in the UAE.
