Ben Shelton Comes Back to Beat Tallon Griekspoor at 2026 US Open

 


American tennis star Ben Shelton made a strong comeback at the 2026 US Open, overcoming a difficult start to defeat Tallon Griekspoor in four sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Shelton, the No. 8 seed, lost the opening set 6-1 as Griekspoor took early control. The American then changed the momentum of the match and responded with a 6-1 second set.

The third set became much closer, with both players holding their serve. Shelton eventually won the tiebreak 7-3, giving him a two-sets-to-one advantage.

In the fourth set, Shelton quickly took control and finished the match 1-6, 6-1, 7-6(3), 6-2.
